EPISODE 13: THE LOVE PLAN
Gold was frozen looking at the transparent bathroom of the room.
When Gold didn’t respond for a long time, Tunde got up and went over to her,
“You’re being strange… I’ve been asking you for a long time and you haven’t answered. If you don’t want to bathe, let me go… move aside!” But as Tunde’s gaze fell on the bathroom, he stopped in his tracks, looking at it in shock.
Now, Tunde understood why Gold was standing like that. He couldn’t understand what to say at this moment and was getting angry at himself for designing the bathroom like this. After a long silence, Gold spoke, “What is this… and where’s the bathroom?”
On hearing this, Tunde looked at Gold, and she understood that the bathroom was inside this room.
“I… I can’t bathe here, it feels so weird,” Gold said.
“Look, you can bathe here. I’m going out of the room. Just lock the door from inside.” Tunde stood and smiled.
After Tunde left, Gold stood there for a while, but since there was no other option, she locked the door from inside and went to bathe.
After a while, when she was ready she called Tunde and went downstairs to the kitchen.
There, the aunt was already cooking, so Gold went to her and started helping. “Oh, what are you doing, dear? We’ll handle this, you go and rest.”
“Let me help, Aunt. There’s nothing else to do right now.”
The aunt smiled, and they both continued preparing the food.
It was 8 PM, everyone sat down to eat. Everyone was happy with the aunt’s special chickpea curry and bread and were eagerly waiting to eat. Uncle Ramu served everyone, and Gold also sat down to eat with them.
“Wow… Aunt, there’s no one who can make this dish like you in the world,” Bukola said while eating. Tunde and Olamide agreed with her.
After dinner, everyone sat and chatted. Then, Bukola had an idea and whispered to Olamide.
“Brother… listen, I need to tell you something important.”
Olamide – “What happened?”
Bukola – “Don’t you think there’s something wrong between Tunde and sister-in-law? If this keeps going on, they’ll grow apart. We need to do something so that they can get close and fall in love.”
Olamide had already been thinking about this, so he agreed with her. “I know, you’re right… And they don’t even sleep together. Tunde sleeps on the sofa or stays outside the room.”
Bukola – “Then first, we’ll have to remove the sofa from Tunde’s room.”
Olamide – “But how will that happen?”
Bukola thought for a while and then got an idea. She whispered her plan in Olamide’s ear.
Olamide – “Are you sure this idea will work?”
Bukola – “It will, brother. What do we have to lose by trying?”
“Listen, everyone listen to me, Mom, Dad, Mother, after so long, we’re all together, so I thought I’ll sleep with Mother in her room,” Bukola said, and everyone was happy to hear it.
“Wow, my child, you care so much about me,” Mother said, hugging Bukola.
“But Mother, how will we sleep on one bed? You know how I move around in my sleep,” Bukola said, making everyone laugh.
Actually, Bukola had the habit of tossing and turning in her sleep, and sometimes she would fall off the bed.
“What, are you all laughing? Just place a sofa next to Mother’s bed, so I don’t fall down,” Bukola said.
Kunle – “Okay, okay, I’ll have it arranged.”
Kunle then asked Uncle Ramu to move the sofa from Bukola’s room to Mother’s room.
Bukola interrupted,
“Dad, the sofa in my room is too small. The one in Tunde’s room is bigger and softer. I’ve seen it. Tunde, can you send it, please?”
Tunde and Gold looked at each other. If the sofa was removed, where would Tunde sleep?
Tunde flustered, said, “What? Why would I send my sofa? There are plenty of others in the house.”
Bukola – “What’s the problem, brother? Why do you care about the sofa?”
Tunde – “I don’t care, why should I tell you? You can pick another sofa if you want, or I can even get a new bed for Mother’s room.”
Bukola – “What? You can’t even do this for me? Is it too much to ask?” Bukola made a sad face, and Olamide tried hard to control his laughter.
“Why are you fighting over such a small thing? Just let Tunde send the sofa from his room. It’s no big deal,” Kunle said.
“Yeah, she’s right,” Aisha added.
Tunde didn’t say anything else, and the sofa was moved.
After some time, everyone went to their rooms to sleep. Tunde went to his room and sat on the bed with his laptop. After a while, Gold entered the room, looking thoughtful.
“If you’re not comfortable, I can sleep in another room,” Gold said, but Tunde didn’t want her to leave.
“No, you don’t need to go anywhere. You can sleep here, as long as there’s no problem,” Tunde said.
Gold didn’t respond, took her clothes from the bag, and was about to go to the bathroom but stopped midway.
She had probably forgotten that the bathroom in this room…
