📖 THE GIRL ON MY BED – Episode 5
Tunde had just entered the bathroom but soon realized he hadn’t brought his clothes with him.
Frustrated, he decided to step out, but then paused. He wasn’t alone in his room, so he couldn’t just walk out like that. Asking Gold for help was out of the question.
“Great, now what? How am I supposed to go out like this?”
Confused, Tunde stood still for a moment, then quietly opened the door to peek outside.
His eyes landed on Gold, who was asleep on the bed. She had been so exhausted that she’d fallen asleep sitting on the bed, still in her bridal outfit. She hadn’t even changed her clothes.
When Tunde saw her sleeping, he couldn’t help but stare.
Gold, in her bridal attire, looked stunning. The innocence on her face made him smile.
But then, snapping back to reality, the smile disappeared from his face.
“She just fell asleep like that… What a strange girl! A while ago, she was talking non-stop like a wild cat, and now she looks so innocent while sleeping.”
Tunde sighed. “And what am I doing? Talking to myself??? Let me just grab my clothes and get this over with. I’m tired too.”
Tunde, dressed only in a towel, tiptoed towards the wardrobe.
He moved as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake Gold. Grabbing his clothes, he rushed back to the bathroom as if he were the one embarrassed.
Tunde returned a little later, now wearing a t-shirt and lounge pants, and walked towards the bed. Gold was still asleep, but her heavy bridal costume was sprawled across the bed, leaving no space for Tunde to lie down.
“Look at her, sleeping so comfortably in MY room, on MY bed. Well, she does look cute, but I’ll have to wake her up. If she keeps sleeping in this heavy bridal costume, she’ll wake up with body aches.”
Muttering to himself, Tunde called out to her in his usual brusque tone.
Tunde: “Hey! Wake up! Miss Rabbit, get up!”
Startled by his voice, Gold woke up and looked at him, confused.
Gold: “What happened?”
Tunde: “What do you mean ‘what happened’? Look at this mess! Your bridal costume is all over the bed. Am I supposed to sleep on the floor now? And don’t forget, this is MY room!”
Annoyed by Tunde’s attitude, Gold shot back.
Gold: “Yes yes I know it’s YOUR room. No need to remind me every five minutes. And this is MY bridal costume. It’s going to stay like this. What will you do about it?”
Tunde glared at her, and Gold nervously avoided his gaze.
Gold: “Well… it’s not my fault! You were in the bathroom for an hour. Was I supposed to just stand around and wait? And this bridal costume is so heavy, what could I do?!”
Tunde: “Fine, fine, enough with the excuses. The bathroom is empty now, so go change and get rid of this heavy bridal costume.”
Without another word, Tunde turned and walked away.
Gold said while making a face: “Ugh! What’s wrong with him? He always sounds so bitter, like a piece of bitter gourd.”
Tunde: “What? Did you say something?”
Gold had mumbled under her breath, so Tunde couldn’t hear her clearly.
Gold: “Nothing! Maybe your ears are ringing.”
Saying this, she quickly grabbed her clothes and rushed into the bathroom.
Tunde: “This girl… It hasn’t even been two hours since she came to my room, and she’s already driving me crazy. When will I get rid of her?”
⏰ Half an hour later…
Gold stepped out, wearing an oversized t-shirt and lounge pants borrowed from Bukola. Her hair was left open, and despite her simple look, she looked adorable.
Tunde was still awake, working on his laptop. Hearing the door, he glanced at her briefly and then resumed his work.
Gold stood there, looking confused. Tunde noticed and, without taking his eyes off his laptop, spoke up.
Tunde: “Why are you standing there like that? If you’re thinking of sharing the bed with me, forget it. And no, I’m not sleeping on the couch either. This is my bed, and I’m sleeping here.”
Gold: “Fine! I didn’t want to share the bed with you anyway.”
Gold grabbed a blanket from the wardrobe and settled on the couch. Just as she was about to lie down, Tunde walked over.
Gold: “Now what? Why are you standing here?”
Tunde: “Go sleep on the bed. I’ll sleep on the couch.”
Gold: “That’s not necessary. I’m fine here. You go to sleep.”
Tunde: “I said, go to the bed. Don’t argue with me. I’m too tired for this.”
Realizing it was too late for an argument, Gold quietly got up and went to the bed.
Tunde, equally exhausted, settled on the couch and fell asleep.
🌅 The Next Morning – 7 a.m.
Tunde woke up. He was used to waking up early, usually by 6 a.m., but the late night had made him oversleep.
Still groggy, he glanced at the bed to see Gold still sleeping.
Looking at her, Tunde’s thoughts drifted to the events of the past day.
“What did I think would happen, and what’s actually happening? A girl I had never even met is now my wife, sleeping on my bed. I don’t know what’s right or wrong anymore. She might not have married me with bad intentions, but even so, I can never love her.”
“You’ll always be a stranger to me.”
He said this softly, looking at Gold before adding in a harsh, bitter whisper, “And I will get rid of her no matter what. I didn’t ask for this marriage, and I refuse to be trapped in it. There must be a way out, and I will find it. She has to go.”
Grabbing his clothes, he headed to the bathroom, leaving Gold sleeping peacefully, completely unaware of the storm brewing in his mind.
💭 What happens next?
Tunde refuses to accept Gold as his wife, and Gold has no feelings for him either. But Tunde is determined to end this arrangement by any means necessary.
But what plans does Tunde have to get rid of Gold for good? Will he try to force her to leave on her own by making her life so miserable that she runs back to her family?
One thing is certain—Tunde is deadly serious, and Gold’s days in this marriage might already be numbered.
