Gold was wondering whether Tunde still cared about Amara or not. But Tunde had not reacted so far.

Everyone was eating quietly when Kunle Adeyemi said, “Are Aisha, when is Rita arriving here?”

Before Aisha could answer, Olamide was startled and said, “What? Rita?? Why is she coming here?”

Aisha replied, “What do you mean, why is she coming? Your engagement is in two days, right? So obviously, she will come for your engagement.”

Olamide was shocked, “But why?”

Tunde interrupted, “Because she is our childhood friend, have you forgotten?”

Mother also said, “Of course, your friends will come to your wedding.”

Hearing their words, Olamide fell silent and started thinking to himself, “But why is Rita coming here? She could have made some excuse not to come. Now how will I get engaged to another girl in front of her? And does it not affect her to see me getting engaged to someone else? Maybe she has moved on, that’s why she is coming.”

Seeing Olamide lost in such deep thoughts, everyone sitting there glanced at each other. They were all trying to hold back their laughter, but no one wanted to tell Olamide about it just yet. So, they controlled themselves and continued eating without saying anything.

The next morning, after breakfast, everyone got busy with their respective tasks again.

Tunde started getting ready to go to the office, while Gold was downstairs helping with the decoration work.

Kunle Adeyemi had gone out early in the morning for some important work and Aisha had gone to the market with Mother to buy some things.

Bukola had taken leave from college but she had an assignment left to complete, so she was sitting in her room finishing it.

Everyone was busy with their work.

At that moment, in the house hall, apart from Gold and the workers, no one else was there.

Raymond had been looking for an opportunity to talk to Gold since morning but she had been busy with one task or another.

Now that she was alone, Raymond finally got his chance. He directly walked up to Gold and assigned some work to the two or three workers nearby, sending them away.

Gold was still engrossed in her work; she just looked at Raymond once, smiled and went back to her task.

Raymond started the conversation, “By the way, why didn’t you continue your college studies?”

“I told you, right? Everything happened so quickly that I didn’t get the time to think or understand anything,” Gold simply replied.

“Hmm… but what was the rush to get married so soon? I mean, you could have done it after completing your master’s degree, right?”

“Yeah, that’s true but forget about me. Tell me, how did you reach such a big position so quickly? It must have been difficult in the beginning, right? No matter how hard we work, we can’t build a career so quickly. Tell me honestly, you must have done something, right?”

Raymond smiled, “You know me so well, I didn’t know that. By the way, if you want to achieve something, you have to pull some strings. I did the same.”

“Really? What did you do?”

“Umm… that’s a top secret. I can’t tell you now.” Raymond winked at her as he said this.

Gold smiled slightly and went back to her work.

She didn’t notice, but Tunde had been watching them for a while. He was already ready and was coming downstairs to leave for the office when his eyes fell on Raymond, who had been staring at Gold for a long time.

Before Tunde could think further, Raymond had already walked up to Gold to talk to her.

Gold picked up a basket kept to the side and turned to go towards the kitchen but her foot slipped.

She was about to fall when Raymond quickly caught her.

Gold was saved from falling and immediately steadied herself but Raymond was still holding her. His hands were on Gold’s waist.

Gold didn’t like being held like this at all.

Tunde was already walking towards them and as soon as he saw Gold about to fall, he ran to her.

But before he could reach, Raymond had already caught her.

Tunde stopped right there but when he saw that Raymond was not letting go of Gold, he got very angry.

On top of that, seeing Raymond’s hands on Gold’s waist made Tunde’s blood boil.

Without wasting a second, he immediately went to them and pulled Gold towards himself.

Seeing him, Raymond immediately let go of Gold.

Tunde felt like teaching Raymond a lesson right then and there, but he thought it was not right to create a scene in front of Gold.

He just glared at Raymond angrily, his furious eyes clearly warning him to stay away from Gold.

But for now, he focused on Gold.

He didn’t know what got into him but without any delay, he lifted Gold in his arms.

Gold was shocked by Tunde’s sudden action.

“Hey! What are you doing?? Put me down!”

“You keep quiet. You have injured your foot,” Tunde said.

“What?? When??” Gold was confused hearing this.

Tunde glared at her and then made her sit on the nearby sofa.

“You were just about to fall, madam! Where was your attention??? How could you fall like this? What if something had happened to you?”

“Then what??”

“Keep quiet and show me your foot.”

Tunde started checking her foot but Gold pulled it back.

“Why should I show you? Are you a doctor?”

“No, I am your husband and taking care of you is my responsibility.” Tunde said this while looking at Raymond, who had been watching them the whole time.

But Gold really liked hearing such things from Tunde.

“What did you just say? Say it again!”

“Why??”

“Just like that… It feels really nice,” Gold smiled.

“Hmm… My suspicion was absolutely right. In fact, now my suspicion has turned into complete certainty.”

“What suspicion??” Gold was confused.

“It’s not your legs that need treatment, but your brain actually needs.”

“Shut up… 😂” Gold glared at him.

Tunde started laughing loudly.

Seeing the two of them like this, Raymond was burning with jealousy and was getting very angry.

He felt like going right now and beating Tunde up, but his work here was very important to him.

He couldn’t afford to make any mistakes regarding this event; otherwise, it could have a huge impact on his career.

Controlling himself, he walked towards them and said with a fake smile, “Wow, Gold! You were saying that your marriage happened out of compulsion, that your family forced you into it but looking at this, it seems like your husband loves you a lot.”

Hearing this, Gold glanced at Tunde.

She herself wished that her husband would love her, but she couldn’t run away from the truth.

However, Tunde was thinking something completely different.

He looked at Raymond and asked, “Who told you that our marriage happened out of compulsion?”

Then he turned to Gold and asked, “Gold, do you keep telling everyone coming at home about our relationship?”

From the way Tunde was speaking, it was clear that he was angry but Gold couldn’t understand why he suddenly got so furious.

She was about to say something when Raymond interrupted, “Oh, actually it just came up in our conversation, yesterday…”

But before he could finish, Tunde cut him off, “What’s with all these ‘oh’ and ‘yesterday’… You tell me, you are here because of the event contract, right? You came here to work, so why were you here talking to my wife? Shouldn’t you be focused on your job?”

Tunde’s anger was growing but Gold quickly got up and tried to calm him down, “Hey, hey, stop! What are you doing? You are getting angry over nothing. He’s just doing his job here, you…”

But Tunde made her pause, “One minute… Why are you interfering? And why are you defending him?”

“Because I know him… We were in the same college. We’ve known each other from before, that’s why we talk,” Gold explained.

Hearing this, Tunde calmed down a little.

He didn’t know that Gold and Raymond already knew each other. He had thought that Raymond was looking at Gold with bad intentions and that’s why he had gotten so angry.

Knowing this, he calmed down a bit but his anger hadn’t completely disappeared.

The way Raymond had been looking at her still bothered Tunde and he couldn’t forget it.

However, he didn’t say anything about it for now.
