MARRIED TO A STRANGER. EPISODE 38[PART A]

EPISODE 38: LOVE WAHALA III(PART A)

Gold sat by the door, staring at the spot where Tunde had just left. She was thinking about how Tunde was searching for akara for her at 3 a.m. Tunde went straight to the parking area, got into his car and started it. But he was confused—where should he go?

Just as he was preparing to leave, the other door of the car opened and Gold got in. Seeing her there, Tunde asked in surprise, “Why did you come here? I told you to stay in the room!” Gold looked at him and said, “I want to come with you!”

“I told you I’ll bring akara for you. You don’t need to come along. Stay in the room,” Tunde insisted.

But Gold was looking down, she softly said, “Umm… I was scared to be alone.”

Hearing this, Tunde looked at her face and remembered the time when they were alone at home and Gold had confidently declared that she wasn’t afraid of anything. Thinking about that, Tunde started laughing.

Seeing him laugh, Gold innocently asked, “Can I come with you, please?”

Tunde couldn’t refuse her and took her along. He started the car, took it out onto the main road and kept looking around, hoping to find a stall somewhere. But which akara vendor would be open at this time of night? Even the vendors need to sleep right!

Gold was feeling quite sleepy but stayed awake for her akara. She kept talking about one thing or another while Tunde drove, listening to her. By now, they had driven far from the hotel but Tunde hadn’t found any akara stall or even any other food. Gold rolled down the window slightly, feeling the cool night breeze and smiled.

Tunde couldn’t help but glance at her repeatedly.

“Wow… Mr. Panla Face, this feels so nice! I wish I could go on drives like this every day,” Gold said, looking outside.

She seemed very happy. Tunde asked her, “Do you like car rides this much?”

Hearing this, Gold glanced at Tunde and then, thinking for a moment she softly said, “You know, my father used to take me on car rides like this and my mother used to come along too. They would even take me out for ice cream at night.”

Sadness was evident in her voice. Tunde understood that she was missing her parents. He didn’t know what to say but just then, Gold smiled at him and said, “Do you know what happened once? I wanted ice cream at night but we couldn’t find any. So my father had a special shop opened in the middle of the night just to get me ice cream.”

Hearing this, Tunde smiled but when he looked at Gold, he saw tears in her eyes. She tried to hide them and said, “My mother and father loved me so much…”

Tunde was understanding her pain, asked, “You love your mother and father a lot too, don’t you?”

Immediately shaking her head, she said, “No… I’m very angry with them. They left me alone… didn’t take me with them!”

Tunde suddenly hit the brakes. For some reason, hearing her say this didn’t sit well with him. He looked at Gold, who was crying. Without thinking, he immediately hugged her tightly.

Gold held onto him just as tightly. She was truly missing her parents a lot. Tunde gave her some water to drink and then tried to change her mood, saying, “Look, if your parents see you crying like this, they’ll feel very bad. And think about me too…”

Gold was sobbing, she asked him, “Th—think about you? Why?”

“Well, if you keep crying like this, your parents will scold me, saying, ‘What kind of son-in-law did we get who makes our daughter cry?’”

Tunde said, making a cute face. Seeing him like this, Gold smiled.
