MARRIED TO A STRANGER EPISODE 49[PART B]

Looking at Aisha, Olamide asked, “But why are they suddenly here?”

Aisha replied, “Oh, they’ve come for your engagement. They are our guests.”

Olamide couldn’t believe that Rita had come here to attend his engagement.

He couldn’t even process the thought of getting engaged to another girl in front of Rita. His mind was flooded with questions.

“Did Rita come here intentionally? Or has she moved on? Does she not care that I’m becoming someone else’s? What is happening? Rita doesn’t even seem upset. Has she really forgotten me?”

Just then, Tunde placed a hand on his shoulder. “What happened? Where are you lost?”

“Nothing… just like that…” Olamide didn’t say much and went straight upstairs to his room.

Aisha tried to stop him but Father signaled her to let him go.

Upstairs, Olamide locked himself in his room and sat near the door. He couldn’t handle any more drama.

He couldn’t keep pretending to be happy.

“What the hell is going on? First, talks of marrying another girl and now getting engaged to her in front of Rita? No way… I can’t do this. And Rita… how did she agree to come here? That day, I said so many things to her, yet she… And Mr. Chibunna… wasn’t he satisfied after separating us that now he wants to torture me by making me suffer in front of Rita?”

Olamide’s mind was a mess.

He sat there for a long time, deep in thought.

Bukola and Tunde came to call him for dinner, but he didn’t go.

So, Gold had his food sent to his room. But Olamide didn’t eat that either; he just sat there.

After thinking for a long time, he got very angry and slammed his hand hard on the table in frustration.

The plate of food fell to the floor and the flower pot in front of him also crashed down.

His hand got injured and blood started flowing, but he didn’t care about any of it.

After thinking a lot, he made a decision.

He got up and stepped out of his room. He started looking for Rita everywhere.

He asked a worker and they told him that they had seen Rita going up to the terrace.

Hearing this, Olamide quickly rushed towards the terrace.

Rita was standing at the edge of the terrace, smiling as she gazed at the moon.

She had headphones in her ears, probably listening to music.

Olamide walked towards her with slow steps and stood in front of her.

Seeing Olamide, Rita stopped smiling and took off her headphones, setting them aside.

Olamide kept looking at her for a long time.

When he didn’t say anything, Rita was about to speak but then her eyes fell on Olamide’s hand.

Blood had started to dry in some places, but a little was still flowing.

Seeing the blood, Rita got very scared.

.

She immediately grabbed Olamide’s hand and started checking it, asking in a panicked voice,

“What the… what happened to you? How did you get hurt? And why did you leave it open like this? Why didn’t you bandage it? Look how much it’s bleeding… Are you even listening to me, Olamide? Hello??”

Olamide pulled his hand away from hers and then held Rita’s face with both his hands.

“Will you marry me?”

Hearing Olamide’s words, Rita was shocked.

She didn’t understand what to say or how to respond. She couldn’t even figure out what had suddenly happened to Olamide.

Gathering herself, Rita said, “What… what are you saying? Are you in your senses?”

“I wasn’t until now, but now I understand everything… I can’t live without you, Rita. I want to be with only you. I can never give your place to anyone else. Please, marry me.”

Hearing Olamide’s words, Rita felt immense happiness inside but she didn’t want to ruin her plan under any circumstances.

So, she controlled herself and spoke with a serious expression.

“You might be forgetting that your engagement is the day after tomorrow. You are suddenly asking me to marry you…”

“Yes, I know. I remember very well that my engagement is the day after tomorrow. But I don’t want to do this engagement. I don’t know that girl and I don’t even want to know her. I just want to be with you.”

“Olamide, you’ve lost your mind… Until yesterday, you didn’t even want to see my face. You said that you were getting married next month. That whatever was between us was just childhood foolishness. So why are you saying all this now?”

“It was never foolishness. I’ve loved you since childhood.”

“Then what was all that you told me?”

“I had no choice… I can’t tell you.”

“What kind of compulsion was it that you can’t even tell me?”

“I said I can’t tell you…”

“Fine, then I can’t marry you either.”

“Please, Rita…”

“Stop this madness. Your engagement is the day after tomorrow. You can’t just break it off and betray that girl.”

“Fine, then… But if my engagement happens the day after tomorrow, I will go so far from your life that you won’t even hear my name again.”

“Your engagement will definitely happen… and that too, the day after tomorrow.”

The rest of the story will continue in the next chapter.
