EPISODE 45 PART A
600,000 naira? Just???”
Tunde: “Why are you reacting like this?”
Gold scolded him, “What do you mean? Who wears such expensive dresses? I can buy clothes for an entire year for that much.”
Tunde calmed her down, “Don’t worry about the money. Maybe you’re forgetting that your husband is a very successful businessman.”
Gold glared and asked, “Ohh, so my husband has a lot of money?”
Tunde said confidently, “Yes. Any doubt?”
“No, no… I was just thinking, if you have so much money, why don’t you buy the entire mall?”
“Okay sure. If you want, I can buy it for you.”
Gold was shocked, thinking he would understand her sarcasm, but he was taking it seriously. She asked to change the topic, “Did you buy anything for yourself?”
Tunde: “No, I couldn’t decide what to get.”
Gold: “What are you thinking of buying?”
Tunde: “A suit.”
Gold: “A suit? No! You wear suits all day; why wear one at his brother’s wedding too?”
Tunde: “Then what should I buy?”
Gold: “Come on, I’ll tell you.”
Excited, Gold started walking away but Tunde held her hand, making her stop. She looked at him confused. “Where are you going? Finish your shopping first or Mom will scold me for not getting anything for her beloved daughter-in-law.”
Gold: “Okay…”
They continued shopping, with Tunde helping Gold select clothes. Gold liked Tunde’s choices. In about an hour, they had chosen outfits for all the functions and Gold was trying them in the trial room. Each time she came out wearing a dress, she looked like a princess and Tunde couldn’t take his eyes off her. They finally selected a few outfits, Tunde paid the bill and the shopkeeper sent their purchases to the car.
Tunde: “Why did you buy so few outfits? There will be many functions.”
Gold: “Mom said I need to buy female native wears too and she’s waiting in that section. So, what’s the point of buying too many outfits here?”
Tunde: “Okay, fine.”
Tunde returned to Olamide and Kunle, while Gold headed to Aisha and Mother. When Tunde reached there, Bukola and Kunle were busy among heaps of clothes, but Olamide was still sitting the same way as before. Tunde went to him and asked, “What’s going on? Haven’t you selected a wedding suit yet?”
Bukola: “Olamide Brother doesn’t like anything, so how can we select one?”
Tunde: “Oh, that’s the issue.”
Knowing Olamide had no interest, Tunde thought for a moment and then said, “If he doesn’t like anything, why not ask his fiancรฉe to choose one? Whatever she selects, we’ll finalize.”
Bukola: “Wow Brother, great idea!”
Kunle: “Yes, that’s a good idea. Olamide clearly won’t select anything, so let’s ask his bride. I’ll call her.”
Kunle started calling her while Tunde smiled at Olamide, who was glaring at him for suggesting such an idea. Tunde ignored his glare. Kunle started speaking on the phone, “Hello… Oh, Ritโ”
Before he could say Rita’s name, Bukola and Tunde quickly signaled him to stop. Kunle caught himself, but Olamide had been paying close attention. He thought he heard Rita’s name. However, Kunle covered it up smoothly, “Riana… Hello dear, we need your help. Are you free?”
Rita replied, “Yes, Uncle, I’m free. What do you need?”
Kunle: “We’re shopping for Olamide’s wedding suit, but he doesn’t like anything. We thought you could select one for him.”
Olamide interrupted, “No, Uncle, I don’t need anyone else to choose my clothes.”
Kunle: “You have to! Because it will be your bride’s choice. Now be quiet or we’ll be here all day without finding one.”
Olamide had no choice and sat down again. Rita said on the phone, “Don’t worry, Uncle. I’ll help. Tell Tunde to send me photos of the wedding suits and I’ll select one.”
Kunle told Tunde to send the photos and Tunde began clicking pictures.
