EPISODE 18:Gold’s Jealousy

Everyone had gone out for an outing and reached the café where Amaka and her friends were.

Everyone met each other and as I mentioned before, Amaka liked Tunde a lot. So, the moment she saw Tunde she went straight to him and hugged him tightly, all of which happened right in front of Gold. Seeing a stranger clinging to her husband like that made Gold feel a bit jealous but she didn’t say anything. She just kept talking to herself internally.

“Wait a second… Why am I getting angry seeing this? What do I even care? It’s not like Tunde and I love each other. I don’t even have any right over him. So why does this make me feel so…?”

“Oh God, what is happening to me?”

Gold was muttering to herself but the displeasure on her face was evident. While nobody else noticed her, Rita had been observing Gold for a while now.

Finally, Amaka let go of Tunde but continued to stand close to him.

Meanwhile, there was someone else trying to flirt and that was Dave. Dave ignored everyone else and kept talking only to Rita. Olamide, on the other hand had been glaring at Dave for some time and Rita noticed that Olamide seemed quite jealous. Rita wasn’t really interested in Dave but today, she felt like provoking Olamide or rather, teasing him.

Then Amaka noticed Gold and asked, “Who is she? I’ve never seen her before.”

Hearing this, Tunde turned to look at Gold. Gold didn’t respond but Olamide grabbed Tunde’s hand, pulled him closer to Gold and said, “Go ahead, Tunde. Amaka’s asking a question. Answer her.”

Tunde looked around at everyone and then said, “This is Gold, my wife. We got married just a few days ago.”

Hearing Tunde say “my wife” made Gold feel wonderful, but Amaka was utterly shocked. To tease her, Bukola added, “Yes! Meet our brother’s wife and our lovely sister-in-law.”

Hearing this, Gold said hello to Amaka but Amaka didn’t respond and just stared Gold up to down.

Amaka’s friends congratulated Tunde but Amaka seemed to still be in shock. “What? You got married Tunde? And you didn’t even tell me? That’s so wrong!”

Tunde replied, “Yeah, the wedding happened in a rush so I couldn’t inform you.”

Amaka asked, “Oh, so it’s an arranged marriage?”

Tunde nodded, “Hmm.”

Amaka said, “Alright then. Nice to meet you, Gold.”

Gold just smiled without responding.

Bukola interrupted, “Can we eat something now please? I’m starving!”

Tunde said, “Oh, come on, Bukola. We just ate at home before leaving, and now you’re hungry again?”

Bukola said, “What can I do if I’m hungry, brother?”

Olamide said, “Alright, alright. Let’s eat first and then go sightseeing.”

Everyone went inside the café and sat down. Amaka deliberately sat next to Tunde before Gold could, so Gold quietly went to sit on the other side with Rita.

Rita had been watching Amaka’s antics for some time now and was getting annoyed with her. Amaka used to flirt with Tunde before but back then, Tunde was single. Now that he was married, Amaka was still behaving childishly, ruining everyone’s mood. Rita could see the sadness on Gold’s face, so she came up with a plan and called Tunde over.

“Tunde, listen. I want to sit near Amaka. It’s been so many years since I last saw my dear friend, and I want to talk to her a lot. So, can you please sit here instead?”

Tunde nodded and moved to sit beside Gold. Gold, who had been looking at Rita the whole time, wondered if Rita did this intentionally to make her sit next to Tunde. Rita looked at Gold and winked, making Gold smile. She tried to control her laughter while Amaka glared at Rita. Rita calmly said to Amaka, “We’ll talk about this later. For now, just eat.”

Everyone enjoyed the meal together, laughing and chatting. After eating, they headed out to explore the nearby areas.

Amaka was burning with jealousy toward Gold. After all, the entire college was crazy about Tunde. Girls who were far more stylish and beautiful than Gold had dreamed of marrying him but Tunde married someone who didn’t even know how to dress up properly. Amaka herself had tried to make Tunde fall in love with her and marry her but she had failed. Even now, knowing Tunde was married, she still wanted him and saw Gold as the biggest obstacle in her path.

The question now was: How far would Amaka go to win Tunde back?
