EPISODE 44 PART A

Bukola started teasing them, said, “Brother and Sister-in-law, Grandmother is right. I want to be an aunt and play with my little nephews and nieces too.”

“Hey, you keep quiet… and what track are you all taking this conversation to? We were talking about Olamide’s wedding, so let’s focus on that.”

Tunde said, trying to change the topic.

Father said, “Hmm… so it’s decided. I’ll talk to my friend today and make all the arrangements. You all start preparing for the wedding.

And Olamide, don’t worry at all. That girl is very nice and you both will make a great pair.”

Olamide couldn’t say anything because he respected his Father deeply and never went against his wishes.

He simply nodded and started heading to his room.

Before he could leave, Father said again, “And listen everyone, after Olamide’s wedding, we’ll also have a reception for Tunde and Gold. It’s been a long time since their wedding, so we can’t delay introducing her to the world.”

Tunde and Gold didn’t say anything; Tunde just nodded in agreement.

Olamide went upstairs to his room and everyone else got back to their respective tasks.

After he left, everyone burst into laughter.

Tunde texted Rita about everything that happened and then headed to his room.

But midway, Olamide suddenly appeared. He pulled Tunde into his room and locked the door from inside.

Tunde: “What are you doing, brother?? Kidnapping your own brother in your own house?”

Olamide: “What else can I do?? Why didn’t you say anything downstairs?? You know I love Rita. How can I marry someone else??”

Tunde: “But how could I say that in front of Dad??”

Olamide glared at him, “Wow, brother… usually you speak without thinking, saying anything that comes to your mind. But today, when you should’ve spoken, you chose to stay silent. Since when did you become so idealistic?”

Tunde: “Just starting today….”

“I’m going to beat you up so bad..”

Olamide picked up a pillow nearby and threw it straight at Tunde but he caught it.

“Why are you getting angry, man? I didn’t tell Dad to arrange your wedding. You shot yourself in the foot. Who told you to blabber nonsense like ‘I’m getting married next month’? Now deal with it.”

“Man, I told Rita by mistake. She wasn’t ready to listen to anything and kept crying. At that moment, I couldn’t think of anything else, so I just said whatever came to my mind. How was I supposed to know Rita would tell the whole family?”

Tunde: “Then why didn’t you tell her the truth?”

Olamide: “You know I won’t tell her.”

Tunde: “But why? How long will you keep this a secret? She’s hurting over there and here you can’t live without her either.”

Olamide: “I’ll keep it a secret until my last breath. I can’t let her father fall in her eyes. No more talking about this.”

Tunde: “Alright… fine. Then get ready to ride the horse for your wedding next month with Dad’s friend’s daughter.”

=

Olamide: “Man, I can’t do this wedding. I just can’t…”

Tunde: “Then go and tell Dad you don’t want to get married.”

Olamide: “You know I never refuse anything Father says.”

.

Tunde: “Hmm… then nothing can be done now. Get married and move on with your life.

Anyway, you’re never going to tell Rita the truth, so there’s no future with her.

Maybe the girl Dad found is really nice.”

Olamide: “No, man… no girl can take Rita’s place in my life. I don’t know what to do anymore.”

Tunde: “Calm down for now and get some rest. We’ll talk later.”

Saying this, Tunde left Olamide’s room.

A little distance away, he put his phone to his ear and said, “You heard it, right? Why Olamide doesn’t want to tell you the truth?”

“Yes, he’s overthinking all of this,” Rita’s voice came from the other end.

When Tunde had gone upstairs, he had called Rita and purposely kept the phone on so Rita could hear Olamide’s conversation.

After deciding their next steps, they ended the call and Tunde went back to his room.

Rita lay on her bed thinking about Olamide, while Olamide stood on the balcony thinking about Rita.

Rita thought that destiny had given them another chance to reconnect.

While Olamide believed that perhaps being together was never in their fate.
