Episode 29:Closer
At the dining table, everyone was joking and laughing while having breakfast. Tunde and Gold seemed happy too but Gold, still embarrassed from earlier, was avoiding Tunde. Tunde noticed and smiled to himself.
Bukola whispered to Olamide, “Looks like our plan worked. Brother and sister-in-law seem quite happy.” Olamide nodded, “Yeah, it does seem that way.”
After a while, Amaka arrived. Amaka greeted, “Hello! How is everyone?” Kunle replied, “Oh, Amaka, come in! The other day you all went out but you didn’t come home afterward.” Amaka smiled, “Sorry, Uncle.
It got really late that day.” Aisha added, “No problem. Come, sit.”
Seeing Amaka, Gold’s face fell. Bukola whispered to Olamide, “Why is this clingy girl here again?” Olamide replied, “I don’t know… and she brought her brother along too.”
Amaka said, “I actually came to meet Rita at her place but she wasn’t there. Aunty told me she was here, so I came over.” Aisha smiled, “Good you came. It’s been so long since we’ve seen you.”
Rita got up and approached Amaka, “Why did you come all of a sudden? I told you we’d meet in the evening.” Amaka replied, “Oh, yes. But you know those friends of ours? The ones we met while we were out? Their family is hosting a party here to celebrate their wedding and they’ve invited all of you as well.
That’s why I came to tell you. You’ll all come, right?”
Everyone stayed quiet until Olamide finally said, “Sorry, but we can’t come.” Kunle interjected, “Why not? It’s not like there’s anything else to do here.
You all should go.” Aisha agreed, “Yes, exactly. You all should go together and have fun. Amaka, when is the party?” Amaka replied, “Tomorrow evening.”
Tunde nodded, “Alright, we’ll be there. Thanks for inviting us.”
Hearing this, Amaka felt a surge of happiness. Her plan was working perfectly. She had planned the party to humiliate Gold and tarnish her image in front of everyone, especially Tunde.
Amaka thought to herself, “She was so smug about marrying Tunde.
But she doesn’t know who she’s dealing with. She’s such a fool and I’ll use that to put her in her place. Just wait and watch!”
What is Amaka planning to do?
What could cause Tunde to hate Gold? Will the distance between Tunde and Gold, which seemed to be reducing, grow again because of Amaka?
Find out in the next part!
