MARRIED TO A STRANGER.EPISODE 27(PART A)

EPISODE 27:Candlelight Dinner

Gold had cooked delicious egusi and semolina, which was Tunde’s favorite.

Dinner was ready but Tunde was still busy working on his laptop. Suddenly, his laptop turned off.

“Ugh… What now? Damn it, why did the battery have to die now?” Tunde muttered in frustration.

Just then Gold entered, carrying the food.

“Perfect timing for your laptop to run out of battery. Now put it aside and have dinner peacefully,” she said, placing the food on the table and taking the laptop away.

The aroma of the food reached Tunde, making him realize how hungry he was.

“What have you cooked?” Tunde asked curiously.

“Why don’t you open it and find out yourself?” Gold replied with a smile.

Tunde opened the dish and was delighted to see the food. Seeing him happy, Gold felt happy.

She quickly set up some candles on the dining table for a cozy ambiance, brought the plates from the kitchen and served the food. Then she sat opposite Tunde.

Tunde took the first bite and it was evident from his expression how much he loved it. Gold kept watching him silently for a while. Tunde noticed this and called out to her.

“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you saying anything?”

“Nothing… I was just thinking,” Gold said with a smile.

“What were you thinking about?” Tunde asked.

“Look outside—the rain, the darkness inside and these candles. It feels like we’re on a candlelight dinner date,” Gold said.

“Hmm, you’re right. But what’s so funny about that? I’m eating with my own wife, not someone else’s,” Tunde quipped.

“What did you say—your wife? But you…” Gold began to tease, but Tunde quickly changed the subject.

“Yes, yes, you said yourself that we could be friends, right? So there’s no harm in having a candlelight dinner with my friend.”

“So, we’re friends now?” Gold asked.

“Hmm,” Tunde nodded.

“Wow! Then you won’t get angry with me anymore, right?” Gold asked playfully.

“Not if you stop your weird antics,” Tunde retorted.

“What weird antics? You’re the one who’s a Panla Face! Your temper is like a volcano—ready to erupt anytime!” Gold shot back.

“Me, Panla Face? And what about you, chatting non-stop all day, hopping around like a rabbit?”

Tunde countered.

=

“I’m no rabbit. You’re the monkey here!” Gold exclaimed.

“Excuse me? Did you just call me a monkey? Do you even know how many women in our company are crazy about me? And you’re calling me a monkey?” Tunde said, pretending to be offended.

“Monkey is a monkey,” Gold said with a shrug.

.

“You know, the entire industry fears the name ‘Tunde Adeyemi,’ and you keep calling me names like Panla Face, arrogant, and now monkey,” Tunde said with a sigh.

“Oh, Mr. Panla Face… You might be ‘Tunde Adeyemi’ outside, whom everyone fears, but right now, you’re just my husband arguing with his innocent wife,” Gold teased, leaning closer to him with a smirk.

Tunde was captivated by her glowing face in the candlelight;
